Customizing Your BANS Header
There are lots of questions on the BANS forum about customizing your template, one of them that I have been active in and trying to help with is customizing the header. First lets talk about that big area on your site. Most people just make up some type of graphic to fill in the whole area and that is fine. But why not take advantage of all that real estate by adding banners, navigation, Adsense(if you are using it) and a smaller logo. You are not limited to the size of the header either, you can make it larger or smaller if you so desire.
It is a lot more work than just throwing in a graphic to fill the entire space, but I feel customizing the header makes the site look more professional. Take a look at some of the top stores in your niche to get some ideas to improve your header.
