BANS v3.0 Advanced Search Mod
Build a Niche Store v3.0 comes packed with a new search feature that allows advanced searches. You now have the option to search by min/max price, min/max bid and search within x amount of miles from a zip code. In my opinion the best part of this is the ability to add a local search. What I do not like is that the user must hit “advanced” to bring up the options. Once they do they are confronted with all the advanced options and it looks a little confusing. I messed with hacked up the code and came up with a quick, but messy fix. Have a look here. As you can see I stripped everything out except for the local search.
This involved modifying the frontcontrol.php and adding a snip of code in the header template.

Just Getting Started
I have been sitting on the idea of putting something like this together for a while now. I am slowly getting things together and I hope some interest in the group can be generated. The hosting for the site and forum are in place, but I am waiting to see what kind of response I get before moving ahead with the forum. I would like to run the forum with vBulletin and will purchase or lease the software once I have some feedback from potential members.
